Creative Journaling

Description

Wednesday, September 16th, 7pm EST

Join us for a no-pressure journaling session where creativity meets reflection. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend an evening that doesn’t involve scrolling, you’ll find a welcoming, judgment-free space to play. By the end, you’ll feel more grounded, focused, and connected to yourself.

By the time evening rolls around, most of us are running on empty. You might feel like you should be folding laundry or catching up on emails, but this hour is a emotional exhale for your nervous system.

It’s the bridge between the ‘busy’ of your day and the rest you actually deserve. We gather to shed the day’s noise together, so you can head toward sleep feeling lighter, centered, and truly relaxed.

Cameras are welcome but never required.  And keep in mind, pajamas, messy buns, and unmade beds are our unofficial uniform. We’re all in the same boat, winding down together.

No artistic talent or experience required. If you can hold a pen and breathe, you can do this. We focus on the process, not the product.

THIS GATHERING IS FOR YOU IF

You’re looking for a fun way to keep a journal. Perfect for anyone craving a little reflection and play. Everyone is welcome (though not required) to be unmuted and chat freely–depending on the group, it may be a more quiet and reflective session or it may be more social and interactive. Every session will be different. But you can do you. No pressure to interact if you’re not feeling it.

You Belong Here Even If…

  • You’re joining us in your pajamas with a messy kitchen in the background.
  • You have never kept a journal in your life but are open to trying it in any form: words, doodles, drawing, or a combination!
  • You only have the energy to keep your camera off and just listen.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We will meet in a dedicated space on Zoom and your guide will share a prompt that will inspire you to reflect and journal creatively. We will come together to wrap up the session however, we will not invite attendees to hold up their work, like we do in other classes, since this is journaling and could be private. The goal of this class is to help you process your thoughts and feelings and get you into a creative flow state using a combination of words, doodles, and drawing.

WHAT YOU NEED

All you need is a piece of paper and a pen—yes, even that ballpoint from the junk drawer works perfectly. We keep it simple so you can start immediately.

  • a few pieces of paper or a journal/notebook
  • pens/pencil

WHAT IS NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT NECESSARY

  • markers
  • stickers
  • glitter pens
  • glue stick
  • magazines or anything for collaging
  • scrapbooking supplies
  • colored pencils, etc.
